Course Length, Delivery Mode and Location
12 months, self-paced (can be fast-tracked based on student pace)
Academy is located at 108a Henson Road, Salisbury, Brisbane.
The full course is a combination of online (theory) and face to face (practical) learning. Students can work at their own pace:
- 1.5 hours on site at High Brow Academy for Practical Observation for HLTINF005 (or student to take videos at a simulated workplace OR a Zoom Meeting can be arranged)
- 6 hours per week (over a 40 week period) at home independent learning, research, study, assignment and project work – 240 hours
- 16 hours at home (or onsite at High Brow Academy), online practical guided learning activities (eg. latex and mapping practice) – trainer directed
- 1 day for consultations and design cosmetic tattoos assessment – on site at High Brow – 9 hours
- 3 days onsite at High Brow Academy for training days for Cosmetic Tattoo units – 27 hours
- 12 days (minimum – as an extra 3 days will be required for the touch up on the brow tattoos) for Cosmetic Tattoo units, for supervised procedure work (live models) at High Brow Academy – equates to 102 – 129 hours – these days do not have to be completed consecutively and there also needs to be a 4 week break between the first 6 brow models and their touch up appointments
- recommended but optional – work placement/experience (this can be done in isolated days/blocks – at any Cosmetic Tattoo workplace)
- optional Zoom meeting with instructor/trainer for troubleshooting and assistance (or as required)
The RPL option can be completed in distance mode or combination mode (enquire with us about this option) – this option is suitable for current Cosmetic Tattoo Artists.

Plus a one (1) Business Elective or a fourth Cosmetic Tattoo Elective:
- BSBESB401 Research and Develop Business Plans; or

- BSBESB406 Establish Operational Strategies and Procedures for New Business Ventures; or
- Cosmetic Tattoo unit (we work in partnership to deliver SHBBCOS008 – Provide 3D nipple areola complex tattooing)
Start Cosmetic Tattooing after you complete a Skill Set – specialise in one Cosmetic Tattoo area (complete 4 Core units, the Infection Control unit and one Elective Cosmetic Tattooing unit) – you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment at this point. You can then complete the Diploma at a later date, once you have completed the three remaining Elective units.

Potential Earnings
If you undertake four cosmetic tattoos per week, you can earn (prior to tax) between $1000-$2000 per week depending upon what you charge.

A non-refundable deposit of $1500 is required to confirm the course booking, with a further $1420 payable 4 weeks later (to make up the 20% deposit). The balance can be paid outright at course commencement, as arranged with the Academy.
